RJS Releases Native PDF Generation API

Anaheim, CA – RJS Software Systems used the COMMON IT Conference today to announce the release of iPDF, a native System i PDF document generation API for RPG developers. iPDF is a revolutionary new product for RPG developers because it allows them to update or replace traditional report or electronic form generation products by using a PDF API to create Adobe Acrobat documents directly from their RPG programs.
Instead of resorting to using older forms technologies to generate Postscript, PCL or AFP document output, System i developers can now generate high-quality PDF documents directly from their RPG application programs, giving them maximum control of the report and document generation process. Because the iPDF API lets developers generate PDF documents in much the same way they write report or print programs, the learning curve is very short. RPG programmers can become proficient in generating PDF documents in a matter of days.
iPDF supports writing text, barcodes, lines, boxes, circles, images and other graphic elements into a PDF document, allowing RPG developers to create simple reports or business documents from any RPG program. Another unique feature is that developers can create 30-40 column PDF documents with color coding that can be sent to mobile devices such as Blackberries or Windows CE, allowing Mobile-enabled documents to be created and distributed with ease from the System i.
