Schaumburg School District streamlines cross-platform data access, enhances productivity
Illinois' own Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54 leverages innovation to consistently achieve award-winning governmental budgeting standards. Most recently, the district gained efficiencies with iSeries Office Integrator.
Multiple platforms, problems
Over the years, the Schaumburg School District accumulated disparate data across multiple platforms. Data retrieval required employees to switch between systems or manually retrieve paper documents, and was, therefore, a time-consuming task.
While custom-coding a solution to communicate across diverse platforms was an option for the district, the process would have been cumbersome to implement and operate, and prone to errors.
One time-saving solution
The district chose iSeries Office Integrator, a program with the power to merge data stored on the district's System i server directly into their Windows-based system from such Microsoft Office applications as Word or Outlook.
Easy to implement, easy to use
System iOffice Integrator programming and installation was a quick and simple process. With the program in place, authorized users are now able to retrieve personnel records on their PCs at the press of a button, with no further user interaction or trips to file cabinets required.
In addition to enhancing data retrieval productivity and lowering costs district wide, the speed and simplicity of System i Office Integrator increases satisfaction for users and the people they serve.
